The loudspeaker calls your name, you are number three. In this moment it is good when everything sits.
A look at the horse
Wipe off the coat, smooth mane and tail, check the hooves. A touch of shine spray or hoof polish gives the final touch. Less is often more here.
A look at the equipment
Tighten the cinch once more, check rein length, check buckles and straps. Anything loose gets fixed now, not in the pen.
A look at you
Breathe deeply, drink a sip of water and think of the task, not of the audience. Your horse notices how you feel. Calm is contagious.
