Julia Schumacher: From Classical Rider to Western Bronze

Julia Schumacher: From Classical Rider to Western Bronze

There are rider paths that run straight, and there are those with bends. Julia Schumacher’s has a few. She has been in the saddle since she was six, first classical and later western.

From the office to the barn

After school Julia did a six-month internship with Steffen Breug and then began an apprenticeship as a bank clerk. But it quickly became clear to her that her real calling lay with horses. So after the apprenticeship she started her professional career, first as assistant trainer at Steck Reininghorses in Buch-Rennertshofen, later at La Mesa Ranch in Prichsenstadt and then at Ludwig Quarter Horses in Bitz.

Her own business

Today she runs her own training business, JS ReiningHorses, at Schnyder Ranch near Ravensburg.

Successes

Julia is a multiple Bronze Trophy winner and became German Champion in 2016 with her stallion Coeurs Little Tyke. The year after she rode for a German team for the first time at the European Championships in Givrins, Switzerland, with silver in the team and bronze in the individual ranking. Her biggest success so far was the 2018 team bronze medal at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA.

We are happy that Julia is part of our team. You can find out more about Julia’s training business at js-reininghorses.com, and we introduce the other riders on the Riders page.
