Mode of action / suitability:

Myler mouthpieces correspond in construction and design to the Myler level, which in turn reflects the behaviour and experience of the horse. The different mouthpieces are available from level 1. These act most strongly on the tongue. Level 3 mouthpieces act least on the tongue and offer the most tongue relief. Most horses can skip level 1 and it is entirely possible that your horse starts its training with the Myler system at level 2, 2-3 or even 3.

This mouthpiece is characterised as follows:

  • Raised and offers more tongue relief than level 1 or 2.

  • Correction mouthpieces act somewhat on the tongue. Curb bits put little pressure on the tongue.

  • Acts more on the bars, poll and chin than level 1 or 2.

  • Is curved and thus creates more room for the tongue.

  • Options with and without ISM*. (independent side movement)
