Care instructions:
Before use:
For bits whose mouthpiece and/or cheek piece are made of sweet iron or black iron,
it is very important to oil the hinges, the transitions from mouthpiece to cheek piece, before use.
This prevents any moisture from getting in.
After use:
After use the bit should be cleaned thoroughly.
Your horse will be happy to have a clean bit, without leftovers from the day before, put into its mouth the next day.
A damp bit should not be oiled, otherwise the moisture is sealed in by the oil.
Mode of action:
Myler mouthpieces correspond in construction and design to the Myler level, which in turn reflects the behaviour and experience of the horse. The different mouthpieces are available from level 1. These act most strongly on the tongue. Level 3 mouthpieces act least on the tongue and offer the most tongue relief. Most horses can skip level 1 and it is entirely possible that your horse starts its training with the Myler system at level 2, 2-3 or even 3.
This mouthpiece is characterised as follows:
-
Raised and offers more tongue relief than level 1 or 2.
-
Correction mouthpieces act somewhat on the tongue. Curb bits put little pressure on the tongue.
-
Acts more on the bars, poll and chin than level 1 or 2.
-
Is curved and thus creates more room for the tongue.
-
Options with and without ISM*. (independent side movement)
Eignung:
-
Basic training, has a good temperament and good self-control, can handle more tongue relief.
-
Advanced training, but with a challenging temperament - nervous, aggressive or insecure.
-
Is currently ridden with a level 2 mouthpiece and shows resistance.
